J92/J92s One Design Sails
Since the late 1990s, the Ultimate Sails team has been at the forefront of crafting J92 sails, starting with the arrival of the first boats in the UK. We played a pivotal role in developing the IRM version in the early 2000s and even co-owned our own J92s, sailing them regularly to refine every design. This hands-on approach has enabled us to engineer a sail package that performs seamlessly across the full wind range, without compromise. Our dedication to innovation has not only resulted in faster sails tailored to the J92’s unique characteristics but also improved durability, keeping them competitive for longer. The results speak for themselves—our J92s have triumphed at the J Cup, and ‘Wizard of Cos’ clinched the National Championships with our latest sail designs.

Headsails
The J92s Code 2 AP Jib is engineered with an exceptionally fair vertical profile to optimise its performance across a wide wind speed range. This refined profile ensures maximum power generation in light winds while allowing the sail to be flattened with precise sheet and halyard tension in strong winds. Enhanced with advanced fibre layouts and increased fibre content, this sail offers superior durability and versatility, setting a new benchmark in performance.

Asymmetric
The evolution of downwind sail design has been one of the most significant advancements in the J92 class, and we’ve led the charge in these developments. Most J92s are equipped with one masthead and one fractional asymmetric sail, making it crucial for the masthead sail to perform across a wide wind speed and angle range. Our latest Code 2 masthead asymmetric design excels in stability, with a luff that rolls well to windward, allowing for deeper angles in light to medium conditions. By incorporating stepped construction—featuring 0.9oz nylon in the high-load luff area—and maximizing twist in the top leech, this sail delivers increased acceleration and promotes early planing, making it the ultimate all-rounder.
